Jesse (Seattle) and Ben (New York) met during a rainstorm on a flooded golf course on an island off the coast of Alaska in the summer of 2014. They played their songs to people dancing on little interlocking squares of plastic under a big, white tent. A little bit later, they started sending audio back and forth - Ben recorded the sound of the taped-down keys of a broken keyboard and the sound of his guitar in a moldy, out-of-use classroom in Alaska. Jesse recorded the sound of his humming fuzz pedals and his drum set in reverse onto cassette tape. Jesse mixed all the sounds together.
